For over 20 years, I have maintained a blog called The Network Garden, where I ruminated on sports, tech, entrepreneurialism, philosophy, systems thinking, pattern recognition and the discipline of getting shit done.
Incredibly, that yielded 700+ posts, some of which I’ll migrate to this blog.
I am a Lakers fanatic, HAD a 20 year bikram yoga practice, am a foodie when it comes to cooking, and am a devotee of Tibetan buddhism, specifically, the teachings of Chogyam Trungpa.
I’m a five-time entrepreneur and systems guy, who is religious about process, and passionate about design.
My personal sweet spot is building vertically-focused platforms, including extensive experience building Real Estate Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Device Management, Mobile Content Delivery, Social Media and Internet Kiosks.
I have found that much of problem solving comes down to defining scope, embracing structure, managing by teaching & being narrative-driven.
This fosters specificity and being holistic, while enabling agility.
I am a devotee of the jobs, outcomes and constraints model, and take pride in the fact that I can toggle between high-level strategic thinking and low-level tactical execution.
I get stuff done, and have had the good fortune to work with great brands including, Apple, Disney, Intel, Macmillan and Cisco (with exits to Apple, IBM and Intel), and been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, Entrepreneur and Inc. Magazine.
